The fastest cable option, bare cable comes standard on the Comp rope. And while speed takes priority here, there are some compromises in durability compared to coated cable. You may need to replace the bare wire a little more often and you will only be able to use the bare wire on rubber gym floors or similar smooth surfaces. Furthermore, the colored bare cables are slightly different from the basic "steel/steel" model in manufacturing and color processing and therefore may feel slightly different in your hands, but their performance when jumping is virtually indistinguishable.

*NOTE: Due to the color treatment process of all colors besides "Steel", there may be some small marks or slight bend in the cable when you receive. These will NOT affect the performance of the cable when skipping. However, if this is something you feel may be unacceptable, we suggest sticking to the Steel color only. Thank you!

There are a few factors to consider when deciding which cable option is best for you.

If speed is your top priority and you are an efficient jumper who trains indoors on a rubber floor and you don't mind changing a cable a little more frequently, then the bare cable is perfect for you.

However, if durability and versatility are your top priorities and you prefer a longer interval between cable replacements, the coated cable is probably the better option.

Also, while any option suits any skill level, beginners often prefer the feedback that coated cables provide for learning timing and rhythm, as well as the durability they offer during the learning process.
